I was at home depot and i noticed the ceiling fan downrods are stainless but are 1 1/16 inch. curious has anyone ever seen these and wondered if they would work.varying sizes 60 inch 12 inch 36 inch thought this might be worth having a option that you could use these
Probably too big.
i know there to big but having an option that would accomodate these would be another choice for people source all materials local if they have a home depot
We already have enough folks printing the wrong size as it is.
How thick is the tube, and what price for what you saw? DOM is already pretty good, I think. I’m not sure how it compares to stainless, but you can get a variety of wall thicknesses.
I know one poster on the forum claimed he used 1" curtain rods…the outer section, which provides 6’ of usable rod in each package for around $25. Before using curtain rods, I’d check with calipers to be assured that the 1" is accurate and consistent and to verify appropriate wall thickness. Most builders are using tubing with 0.065 walls, though some builds have been mentioned on the forum with thinner walls.
