Ughh… I lined up the belt to the 1in mark (rather than the 0 mark to me accurate)… But forgot to account the 1 inch and now I have two cables that are an inch short.
Just made a new order for more belt (and some sharp stuff)

Nice! Please let us know how this will work out.
I use a digital kitchen scale I purchased at at a big box retailer maybe 7 years ago. I believe it was under $20. It registers at about 4 grams and it seems to do pretty well above 20grams or so up to about 15lbs (7 kilos or so). It would probably work well for this purpose. For me, I weigh a known number of small parts, maybe 100, to find an average piece weight. Later I can use that with the tare function to get an approximate count rather than counting several hundred dime-sized parts.
Yikes, I’m far too lazy for that. And when I mess up it will err the wrong way, indicating that I have more than I really do.
Thank you for that! I’m planning a Tri-colour scheme myself and that really helps to visualize it!
It’s a character (and sometimes vocabulary) building experience.
And for some of us, scar tissue building!
Not all scars are on the outside…
I just let my filament runout sensor pause the print when it runs out. The bondtech extruder will pull the filament off the spool if it’s taped.
Looking a the construction of the Z-axis on the top where the Nema motor sits, the tubes are only held by the clamps. In the comments it says “Very little force is needed here; 4 screws have a lot of holding power and they are only holding a few pounds.” - isn’t this the only part that prevents the Z-axis tubes from sliding out (falling down) and they hold all the weight of the mounted tool? … maybe I am a bit too paranoid thinking that the tool including the tubes could slide down when the machine is running.
Edit: I just looked at the previous version and it was a similar construction for the Z-axis and it apparently works even for heavier tools that some people here used on the Burly. So maybe my thinking is just wrong here that something like this could happen.
Two tubes, 4 clamps. Even if they each only held 2lbs that is a lot, but they hold much more than that easily. Just don;t break the clamps. Start loose. If it ever slipped the fix is a 1/4 turn of the screw. Too tight and the fix is a new part.
Every part of this assembly follows that. Loose is a simple fix, tight never is.
Thanks Ryan… if I would construct something I would probably use 4 times more material than needed
Still got 40 hours to go on printing the core.
So FedEx, as usual, managed to screw up my shipment. Maybe it’s just a southeast Michigan thing, but the Jegs order was coming from the West side of the state to the east side. It got to the distribution center near my house on Sunday (ordered Friday). I’ve been waiting, thinking it will show up any day, then suddenly it’s in New York with an unreadable barcode -_-
New date for arrival is 7/9. I’ll be done printing tomorrow.
Or physical
The most upsetting thing about FedEx deliveries is when they seem to get to you early. You get the status update “On truck for delivery” and then at the end of day suddenly “package not due for delivery” and they just drive by your house.
I literally cringe any time I see the shipper is FedEx. I thought about going over to the distribution center to just pick it up, but then I thought “Well they’re a shipping company, I’ll let them ship it. I’m not even done printing yet”. Should have known better
I guess I’ll just see how much of the build I can do without the tubing. Home Depot charges the same for 3ft that Jegs did for 8ft, so I can wait a week. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will get on a truck back my way before the holiday.
I see that sometimes. A package from CA will go to new york first. Not just fedex.
I am constantly impressed with the shipping systems though. They move so many packages. And most of the time, they manage to make them go in exactly the right way, and they know exactly when they will be there. So many packages.
Yeah, when I lived in Maryland, it seemed UPS was the slacker, and even here, UPS isn’t always perfect. I’m honestly sort of impressed FedEx managed to misplace an 8ft long package, though. I’ll just be glad if it isn’t damaged.

First time builder here. Just finished printing all the Primo parts!
Trying my best to be patient, but is there an ETA on the Primo hardware kits? I’m giddy with excitement and want to get started on it ASAP!
Seems we still only have one Primo built and in the wild. There are several that are really close now but still I want some more confirmations.
Ron’s build is doing really well though!!! Temple Texas Primo build (Upgrade from a burly)
