New MPCNC for 2020! - Primo -

Yikes…Too close for comfort. They just evacuated the south end of the city. The freeway should hold it back I would assume, or at least give a heck of a defensible line.

Wow :grimacing:

Yikes! I remember when we lived in Sunland/Tujunga and the fires got up in the Angeles National Forest…

At the risk of sounding flippant, go pee on your lawn! If the neighbors complain, tell 'em you’re doing fire mitigation on your property.

Not trying to make light of a serious subject, but I got totally distracted by the In N Out Burger and lost track of the purpose of the map.

Stay safe!

Oh man, that in and out since the first Covid stay at home…The drive through lines are so long they have had to reverse it through the other parking lot. It snakes around. I would guess you would have to wait at least 30 minutes to get a burger, probably more.

You should get your burger and then just get back in line for the next meal.

I used to go to the coors brewery with friends in college to the lounge where they would give out free samples. The lines were long enough that you would get your beer, and everyone would just go to the back of the line and finish it before you got to the front. We had a break in classes between like 10am and 2pm. We would bring in our homework and some sandwiches. We called it “coors lab”. It was supposed to be at the end of the tour, but you could ask for the “short tour” and just go to the elevators and head straight to the lounge. Good times. Then they got a bunch of new rules and it wasn’t fun anymore. Stuff like no outside food, they gave us wrist bands to keep us at 3 beers (and the beers were only 8oz).

I guess I shouldn’t complain. I did have a lot of fun while it lasted, and I’ve almost never bought coors beer, so I guess they lost a lot on people like me. :man_shrugging:.

We had a bar on campus, super cheap pitchers. They shut it down my last year. The incoming students didn’t believe us. It turned into an admin office if I remember right (probably kept the taps). That was where my bud light habit was solidified. We also had a granger on campus with a student discount…man there was very little reason to leave now that I think of it.

See, this is why I love NE Ohio. I mean sure the weather is crazy most of the year. We only get about 5 really nice days. Its either sweltering heat, or freezing cold, usually in the same week, and everybody hates on Cleveland, but no forest fires, mud slides, hurricanes, earthquakes, and the cost of living is super low. I’m just sayin😁

But seriously. Stay safe man. I hope everything turns out ok.

Trying to wire in series here, motors stutter and go whichever direction they feel like after? Is this common?

Your motors might be fighting each other (i.e. going in opposite directions). Just rotate any stepper motor connection for a specific stepper 180 degrees to reverse the direction of that stepper.

It appears I’ve been greedy, I tried with some lower power motors and it works fine.to much power for my setup I suspect

Something sounds funny. Make a new post, put up a few pics and some model numbers.

If I can’t get it sorted, will post. But I’m not using any typical/recommended electronics.

Ok. This stuff can be tricky, and I’m happy to help (as are most folks here). I just don’t want you to have a deeper issue and have it surface later. Bigger motors doesn’t usually end in stuttering.

Made another post😀 thanks

Yeah, the current fire just down the road from me looks like it’s finally pretty much contained. About a thousand acres and dozens of structures, but no lives lost at least.

I’m on my way back home and early today I drove by Vacaville on Rt80, both side the highway was burned and a very thick smoke and smell. Drove to Salt Lake City with smoke and looks like the smoke is all the way to Missouri and Arkansas.

Hi there - I’ve just recently been introduced to V1 & really enjoying catching up. A few years ago, I set out to do a “scratch build” cnc router as a learning project and really appreciate what you have created. I hope the fire has spared you and the In and Out Burger joint as well. We have one here in Katy TX (originally from South Louisiana) but I haven’t tried it yet - sounds like I’ll have to soon based on the conversation.

Nice to see the progress on the “C” version - I’ll continue waiting for that launch with great interest. Planning to put some miles on my little Creator Pro for this build. My compliments on the the Aluminum stand - really like that touch. I have a Hobart Handler 210 and some excess angle lying around from an old roof top tent and greenhouse builds. I do have a suggestion on the wooden table top (if you haven’t thought of it already) - why not drill a bunch of holes in a grid pattern and install Tee nuts from below so that you can secure your work to the machine? I plan to do that… just throwing that out there.

In case you’re interested, here are some of the referenced work:

the Greenhouse build is WIP - currently creating arduino controlled ventilation and irrigation…

I’ll stop now before I type my entire resume! I just wanted to introduce myself and show my shared interest. THANKS!

That is a hell of a project! My buddy came by a month ago with his custom Tacoma pop top shell…Looks like I need to do something custom to my taco now!

Welcome, looks like you will fit right in!

Yeah, 2020, feeling mighty apocalyptic around here. Whole dang state is on fire! The one nearest me, SCU, is headed away now still can’t see the sky but looking and smelling better in the shop.
