I hesitated to post this because I’m a little self-conscious, but I figured maybe it would help someone who’s on the fence about building a LowRider. I’ve been into 3D printing for years and wanted to get into CNC. I bought a Chinese 3018 as a starter machine, but it was too small/weak to be useful. I decided to go all in on a big LowRider. I went with a boom arm system for hose and cable management (using an old trampoline pole) and the little pieces of PVC slide along the boom. The cable management is not perfect, but it seems to be working so great far. I was able to level the spoilboard with almost no stepping using the painters tape hack.
I am using WebUI 3 and I love it so far. Being able to control the machine with a keyboard is awesome. I also incorporated a solid state relay into the mix so I can start and stop the router automatically using gcode. The little white remote can power off the machine and the vacuum independently of each other.
