Greetings from Ireland.
I am currently printing parts for the F type mpcnc on my Anet a8 and I nearly have the full set done at this stage. I have the conduit cut to size and have got a Katsu router and the bearings. I have been thinking of this build for quite a while but with the lockdown I am able to pull the finger out at last. Still have a way to go
My original intention for this was to build an Openrov but I now have a backlog of ideas as I am sure you all can relate to.
Welcome to the crew! We look forward to seeing your build, and what you make of it!
If you can’t tell already, feel free to ask if you run into any stumbling blocks or have any questions. Someone around here will be sure to know the answer (or at least keep you entertained/distracted until that person shows up).
Hey cheers thanks for that. I am sure I will have plenty of questions. I have already gotten a lot of answers from other posts on these forums which is reassuring.
I’m Dublin based and just ordered the low rider kit.
Can I ask did you buy direct from V1 or get parts elsewhere? If you got it direct how long did shipping take.
Hi Daniel
I haven’t ordered any electronics or motors as of yet. Postage and customs from US was putting me off but I have signed up to addresspal usa so may run with V1 for that.
Let us know if you get hit by customs yourself.
The bearings I got on amazon.
The fasteners and PLA were from farnell.ie Other PLA from Radionics in Crumlin
Katsu router from aim tools uk
The conduit was from eurosales in ringsend.
Hope that helps.
Good luck with the build.
Liam
Just a quick update. I have finally managed to clear a space in the workshop for the MPCNC. I had issues with the Anet a8, amongst other things which stalled the build for a while.
Here is a photo of progress so far
Heresy is what happens when you run out of conduit and have to search for a bit of steel you last used 25 years ago! But yeah it would be great to get her up and running finally.
Be glad you stopped at heresy. Apostacy is when you resort to drinking lite beer, and we are then forced to show you the door. (note, you don’t have to leave or anything, we won’t frosty-beverage-shame you, we’re just pointing out that the door is, in fact, over there…)
My kit took about two weeks (Jan 13 to 27th) from CA to Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan via USPS Priority Flat Rate box. No customs due, surprisingly. Ryan mailed it the day after I placed my order. All arrived safe and sound. I got my stainless steel rail pipes (2mm thickness) from Germany via Amazon.de. B&T Metall, a bit over 100 euros for 7 m.
