I used the machine yesterday and it was okay.
Today my octoprint was saying no serial connection. I tried the LCD too and that is blank.
I tried flashing the V1E marlin again, no flashy lights.
Is it toast?

Did you double check your power supply is working?
The board is getting power. The LCD lights up and the 5V and 12V LEDs on the board light up.
PSU might be malfunctioning and killed it maybe?
Possibly. Do you have a spare power supply?
Another way to kill controllers is if you regularly move your machine around manually with the power off. If you do this, and it lights up the LCDs or LEDs, you’re generating enough back EMF into the system to damage it.
If you have a spare PSU start there. If you have a DMM, put it on the power supply terminals and monitor what the voltage is doing with the board on. You can also carefully check the 5V and 3.3V power rails on the SKR to see more of what’s up.
A good high-resolution picture of your control board might also yield clues for us to help you troubleshoot.
@MakerJim isn’t there a 3.3v light on the SKR? Its been so long since I have messed with one I am not sure, but I seem to remember 3 lights.
Correct. If there’s no 3V3 LED then the board is likely dead.
The most common reason for that is the manual motion while off thing I mentioned above. It’s the same failure mode as the “bed crash” on a MP3DP setup (of which I still have one of your dead SKR boards, and it’s pretty dead.
)
3.3v LED is in fact dead. Rest in peace.
I’m planning on replacing it with a SKR 1.4. Trying to keep costs down and hoping I can figure out the wiring and firmware.
I’ve been searching the forums for info and some comments suggest the SKR1p3 firmware will work. The boards look very similar.
If you are buying a new board then I would suggest going with the Jackpot
If you already have a new board or are just wanting to stay with Marlin, I would check that the pin numbers and all are the same. I highly doubt they are, which means that the firmware you are wanting to use will not work.
Like I said Jackpot is out of my budget at the moment. But I’ve the SKR Turbo marlin build on 1VE GitHub and that should be a more straightforward install than SkR 1.4 normal I think.
Do you think my 2209 steppers drivers are okay?
Likely most are OK. If it is from a manual move, then one axis (up to one pair) may have gotten stressed.
