MPCNC Primo z-axis dimensions

Hi,

I finaly started building my Primo MPCNC with 25mm tubing and making good progress. Mechanical side is almost done, only struggling with squaring X (maybe dual entstops will solve it) and need to mount the spindle.

I want to try LinuxCNC + Remora + BTT Octopus Pro for controls. If I get it to work, I’ll post an update, as theres not much out there for this combination.

Trying to design my own spindleholder I ran into a problem, working backwards from the tool-plate-meshes, I get for the distance between the z-tubes. A measurement taken from my build suggest its 71mm.

As I read in another thread drawings and parametric files arent online for a reason, but if someones willing to share the center-to center-distance between z-tubes, that would be great!
Would hate to have binding or scraping printed parts…

There are step files for the toolholders afaik. :slightly_smiling_face:

Found them: MPCNC Primo Blank Tool Mount step files by V1 Engineering | Download free STL model | Printables.com

I’m not sure what CAD tools you are using. I’ve made a number of parts for my Primo, and I find it best to take measurements from the few STEP files, or from the STL files, rather than trying to measure from my physical machine. I’ve used the files Philipp linked for several components.

Here is a DXF file taken from a slice of the core from the STL files for the 25.4mm version of the Primo (the geometry varies by version):

Core Slice.zip (13.8 KB)

Based on this drawing, the measurement between the two 25.4mm tubes is 71.383mm.
