i prefer your configuration 5 drivers and direct wiring to each motor, i need my machine to be accurate as possible
firmware is Marlin-MPCNC_Ramps_T8_16T_LCD_32step_DualEndstop
regarding the sd card and encoder issue , i am waiting to my SD 10 connector TO arrive (aliexpress), i tested just to make sure with my 8 pin connector, not working.
What I found so far:
configuration.h
I would enable classic_jerk and set it to 3,3, 0.2
#define X_BED_SIZE 200
#define Y_BED_SIZE 200
this is not yur correct size, I assume. You will run into issues if you want to home from a positiob like 500 or so. Put in correct values!
uncomment:
#define EEPROM_SETTINGS
#define INDIVIDUAL_AXIS_HOMING_MENU
#define CR10_STOCKDISPLAY (and comment out reprap_discount_fullgraphics_display)
Other than that, I didn’t find any bad things.
Stepperdrivers:
The jumpers are set wrong. You have to set MS1 MS2 and MS3 for 32 Microstepping. You set to fullstep! Might be a reason for the sound.
On the sounds of your steppers, check additionally, if all wires are correctly connected to the motors. If you are missing a coil, this sounds awful!
You need to wire you steppermotors with seperate drivers using this firmware and you need to attach the second endstops on x+ and y+!

it seems your solution is working perfect!!! educator for real.
the LCD issue is yet to be solved, i will wait for new connector and follow your advice about EXP2.

The way i perceive it, the machine is all about increasing level of freedom and choices on global scale, a fusion of human skills: low tech craft and digital technology (CRAFTECHNOLOGY:).
