I apologize if this isn’t the right place to post this question, but has anybody ever engraved aluminum with a Burly MPCNC?
I don’t have a specific answer for you, but I suggest you do an advanced search (Forum search/More…/Advanced Filters) of this forum for “Aluminum” before 04/26/2020. The post announcing the release of the Primo was on that date. I know some people were doing things with Aluminum before the Primo’s release.
Engraving is less stressful on the machine than cutting on pocketing, so I’d bet that engraving would work just fine on a well-tuned Burly.
…and this is the right place to ask your question.
Yes. There was aluminum milling and engraving on the MPCNC from almost the beginning and the Burly was definitely doing a lot of those projects.
If you have questions about it, I would just ask and the fact that it is a Burly shouldn’t matter much. The techniques are the same for the primo. Just like any machine, you have to get the settings dialed in and have a good working machine when working with a more difficult material like Al.
