Then I thought, wait. The 3d printer has a heated print chamber. It works too, but it’s not very efficient. Trying to heat the whole chamber to 43C is difficult. But it gives me ideas. I do have the heated bed set to 43C, so that’s helping as well. It’ll probably be cheaper to just buy the dehydrator.
Neat idea! Have previously thrown some old towels or folded old sheets (usually used to protect floor from paint) over my printer to help heat the chamber more efficiently, and dampen noise..
I started thinking about this more last night. If I remove the filament spool and bring the chamber temp probe down (currently mounted in top of the chamber); I could use some rigid foam to make a false roof at about the midpoint on the chamber. Then I’d be heating much less space and the big opening at the top of the print area wouldn’t let all the heat out.
