I have a friend who recently got married and i was really struggling with what to make them so it has been delayed a few months but i had this idea based on a few things I’ve seen about embedding led’s in wood and covering it with veneer so i tested it
(please ignore Tylenol bottle)
and it worked really well.
Initially i wanted to do it in walnut but it really didn’t let in enough light to work.
So I found a Sheet of maple veneer that would be big enough to cover the whole sign.

Here’s the back on the bottom right is where the controller is and the left where the power plugs in.
and finally here with it on and off
the letters were cut with a laser but the rest was done with human controlled tools instead of a computer
