Milling "XZ Min" Plate question

Hi all,
I’d like to cut out some new XZ plates for an LR4. On the Min plate, how are others milling the groove at the top where the Z cable goes? See image attached. I’ve 3.18mm/1/8" bit but the slot at the top is 2mm - is a smaller bit viable when milling aluminium?

I’ve search the forums but I feel I’m not using the correct terminology.

You can mill it with a 1/16" bit or just cut it with a hacksaw/band saw. It is not critical. Technically, you do not even need it if you put the stubs on after.
