Currently acceleration is set to 200mm/sec2 in the jackpot config for LR4
Has anybody tweaked it to bigger values? I’m trying to do a bit of math for trochoidal aluminum cutting and looks like I need around 500 to be able to get to right speeds during the oscillation motion. with the current low settings the machine will never reach the programmed speed in those tiny arcs
the other thing is that the tmc driver mode is set to stealthcop. is there a reason for it and has anybody tried spreadcycle ? i had issue with stealthchop on my corexy printer and switched it to always run in spreadcycle in klipper
talking to AI and doing some real testing showed that if you do a trochoidal milling with 3mm endmill
you can not get to more than 700-900mm/min in the cut. that is because trochoidal milling is moving on the tight arc so the actual move speed is limited by max acceleration. You can set you feed to any big enough value and it will be limited by acceleration. tweaking the feed override in the ui does nothing as well
It actually may be not a problem as AI suggested to me initially. I did couple of test cuts on my Full Sheet LR4 and it cuts no problem with nice chips. The router set between 1 and 2. set to 1 initially but sounded happier when i’ve increased the rpm a little bit
