Max Z for software

Just thought I’d ask.
I know the lowrider3 works from max Z 200 and down.
But when it comes to setting up software such as octopi/cncjs etc.
Would the max height still be 200mm or would it be the max height the lowrider can actually take in my case 94mm thick material?

I set my max for 128mm, as that is the max travel that my LR3 has. The CAM will try for whatever you tell it to. If you know you can never go below -94mm, then it is up to you to ensure that your tool path never does that.

The vast majority of my cuts are limited in possibility by the length of the tool that I have. I have a couple of mills that are 50mm long, but most are about 16mm (I think… That’s what I told Estlcam they are anyway). I can still tell Estlcam to try to cut 19mm depth with them though. It’s up to me to not be dumb about it. Tryjng to cut to 19mm with that mill will result in rubbing the collet against the work, which is liable to start a fire.
