M5 versus 10-24 hardware

A 10-32 machine screw has diameter of 4.76mm,

An M5 screw has a diameter of 5mm,

What would happen if I assembled my machine with 10-32’s?

(I’m waiting for a shipment of M5’s but feeling really antsy!)

I think you would be okay, your idlers will all move a bit, but should be okay??

I used 10-24 on the MP3DPv5 for all the M5 parts because the M5x30’s were too short and the 10-24 were in abundance for a couple bucks at the big box store… works fine.
