LR4 Rainbow Vomit Build, Germany

I started with those inserts as well, I did try T-tracks… I tried a vacuum table… I am now back to just screwing it down..

1000% best and easiest way to do it. I watch everyone making these super fancy spoil boards and often wonder how long they actually use it like they intended before just screwing stuff down.

I was literally thinking the same. I thought I was some kind of animal for screwing directly into the spoil board

With my cribbage boards being exact size and no through hole. I use blue tape and hot glue on the edge. I also started to use a drill press vice screwed to my table that is working well. Other projects I first drill holes and screw it down vetric will now avoid areas you highlighted clamps screws but not drills unfortunately  Could never get the 2 sided tape to work for me

I do pound the old screw holes flat before the next

Palm sander with some 150 flattens them down quickly enough for me

I have done the painters tape and CA glue before (works VERY well) but never tried hot glue. Might have to try that one next time.

Just around the outside edge not under the project I also put tape on the spoil board to glue to

I use carpet tape, and then screws. Same as JJ - hit it with the palm sander in between.

Yeah for screwholes i use a small little handplane just 2-3 pases and everything is flat again

okay, nevermind, one more question, what is your solution to control the CNC? At the moment i create my gcode on my maincomputer, connect to the jackpot through wlan and drag and drop the files directly.

then in the basement i just use my phone to connect via WLAN and start and do everything from there. is there a better way? should i get a used minipc with a monitor or old laptop from ebay?

I think you are doing it how most people do it. I do the same for my gcode. I do have a cheap amazon tablet I was using for a while. I think its a “whatever works for you” type situation.

Hey, nice to see your Build.
Maybe we can get in contact together, since i am also from Germany. (near Frankfurt -aM.)
What CNC controller are you using?

Hey Frank, there are several builders in Germany, so you won’t have any problems to receive support.
