LR4 gantry lift router side

Having a bit of trouble if the machine is home the I have to help lift the home side for the gantry to lift. Same for the far side as well. If centered it works fine. Any thoughts. Running 24v with jackpot board. All else is fine.

Here’s a couple of suggestions for you Sean.
First, check to see if your leadscrews are lubricated.
Second, have you updated Fluidnc recently. If not I would update it. Then download and install the newest config.yaml.
Here’s the newest config: FluidNC_Configs/LowRider CNC/UI V2 LRCNC at main · V1EngineeringInc/FluidNC_Configs · GitHub
Hope this helps.

am I using V2 or V3 config.yaml for jackpot of LR4?

Are the screws lubricated?

I just lubed then again. It goes up and down fine in the middle now. But when home still isn’t going up.

I upgraded to the newest firmware and webui 3. Not sure where to upload the config file on this new ui. May need to revert back to the firmware before.

Newer versions of FluidNC expect a reference in your config.YAML file for homing amps. And if you don’t have it specified, then it uses a default value for homing amps that is too low for LR4. If you put the homing amps keyword into your config for each of your motors, and at least for Z motors, specify a higher value like what is used for your holding amps or your cutting amps in Z, then it should do better for you on that.

I don’t see how to upload config.yaml in the new web V3

I’m not at my machine, but if memory serves on the upper right side, there’s a little drop-down arrow over the file section, and it has a drop-down with a couple choices, one is create a folder, and the other is upload a file.

Mine has the V1E theme in use… and looks like this:

…and the little arrow for file uploads is here:

Make sure the dropdown has “Flash” selected and not “SD” when you upload.

Yep.

Ok thank you got the uploads. Ended up flashing and redoing the whole board. Set the homing amps to .110 and still have issues. I have lube on the screws. Have some more lube on the way from Amazon. I just shut it down and the z on one side where the router homes fell all the way down. So plenty of lube. The other side slowly fell. Would the linear rails it rides on need lube? Those are from my LR3 and had very little rust on them from being in my shed.

maybe just needs some exercise, she’s flowing on the home side right now from probing to home. I’ll keep running it back and forth to get the lube in place

You set to 0.110? That’s way too low. If you set it to 1.100, that’s too high.

My config has

    run_amps: 0.680
    hold_amps: 0.500

I got it running. Now how do I get the same background like yours Doug?

That’s my V1 theme for WebUI v3.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what is tne recomended version of fliidnc for the jackpot now?

As far as I know, it’s still 3.9.1. Looking through the release notes on later versions, I don’t see anything that would affect typical usage. I just put 3.9.7 on the one on my Lowrider but haven’t done much with it yet. I was hesitating updating my pen plotter because I think it might require changes to my M6 macros.

Thanks. I tend to stick to what it works for long, my 6pack still running ancient firmware
