LR4 Dust Hose Management

Looking for ideas on how folks are managing their 2.5” dust collection hose - especially along the Y axis of a full-size build?

Is anyone using an overhead support system? Seems like that might be a good solution, but I haven’t given it a lot of thought at this point.

If you have photos of your dust hose setup, please share!

I use an overhead system. I have a beam on a hinge that support the hose and power cable. I can take a picture tomorrow.

This is what I have for now. It’s definitely a redneck version. I plan to have the hose drop from the ceiling eventually. I think Peter H has some photos of what he has done that is similar to these pictures.

@vSeccelen – Any luck on getting a pic of your dust host setup? Very interested to see what you’ve done!

I use a swing arm in an enclosure. It’s for my LR3 but I don’t imagine it’ll be too different once I switch to LR4

I am currently in the process of moving my lr4. I am also making a better version of the arm, I am happy to share the files when I’m done. This was the old setup, not the prettiest but worked very well. The arm can swing both directions.

Is that 2.5" hose? I need to move my hose overhead, keeps catching on stuff along the gantry or the table edge. Do you find that the hose tries to contract when the dust collector is on? Wondering if it will be too much pull on the gantry as it fights to stretch the hose out during use.

Yes the hose that fits inside the dust shoe is 2.5”
