Nice build. I loved converting my LR3 to the 4, and I had the exact same reaction when I saw the wire management tunnels. Seeing the assembled machine with barely any wires visible really pushed me to make my wire management as pristine as I could. I even wrapped the Makita cord all the way to the outlet, lol.
For 3d carves, I did a few last Halloween for the wife. In foam, but the process is very simple in Carbeco, and using a 0.5mm ball nose taper bit gave amazing results. For the LR4, planning to do some big unique 3d carves in walnut and Padua that I want to incorporate into some unique furniture.
I was able to get the lowrider 3 ploughing through walnut at 40mm/s, 4mm doc, but I was using a 2-flute bit (newbie) and making dust as opposed to chips. I’m sure I killed the bit and kept going which contributed to a core failure I had and the need for a lot of patience in my very last batch of client plaques.
Looking forward to seeing how hard I can push the lr4
