LR4 Aluminum Milling

I jumped in because it does not read that way to me.

With all that said, these parts are designed to not need 0.001mm accuracy. The braces are 18mm (and should print slightly thinner do to most people over squishing the first layer). The plates will be a fantastic fit.

I understand wanting to get dead nuts dims out of a cut, and I do want to see it. But for anyone reading this that has not tried metals yet -0.12mm is a pretty darn good first try and perfect for this part.

I hadn’t even mentioned the accuracy in my post, I’m totally happy with it, and the finishing is great. Was asked to me, and the rest was rambling
This is my fourth V1 machine, I love Your work!

It’s getting better :star_struck:

I tried a different 1/8 single flute cheap endmill, indicated as an Aluminum one

The blue one is the first I used, specs says it’s for wood, plastic and aluminum.
The silver one only aluminum, it gives a better finish, but less shiny and more satin.

Increasing the finishing pass from 5% to 0,20mm seems to help a lil.

Nominal dimension: 67,5

Nominal dimension: 18,5

0.075mm of error is near to perfection for a 1420x900 machine :sunglasses:
