[LR3] Front Y Belt Holder Base - Alignment

Hi everyone,

I am continuing on my build of LR3 and I am attaching the machine to the table at this point.

I have more or less winged the attachment of “Front Y Belt Holder Base Right”.

The question is about the left side. Does it have to be at the EXACT some spot? I think I got it a bit misaligned as I predrilled the hole slightly off. I still am not sure about the zeroing of the Y axis (never had this CNC before) but they do go to zero individually and as there is a slight give in the X axis, will the machine square itself?

When I push now the machine to those “Holder Bases”, the right side clicks first and then the left one. I can probably just shim the left one so it’s the very much the same but that would require me to glue something on which contains the risk of falling of at some point, etc…

Any suggestions please?

Thank you very much.

If you are only off by a couple mm you can adjust for that with pull off values when you actually square the machine up. If it’s more than a few mm then my suggestion would be to remove that belt holder. Get some 1/4” dowel rod and drill your screw holes to 1/4”. Glue in the dowel rod and once glue dries trim/sand smooth. Then try again on getting it closer.

Thank you, @Jonathjon

I glued some 3D printed spacer on it for now and I will hope for the best.

It’s been like 4mm gap. I will see what it does later on in the project.
