I think I read it’s something like 10mm deflection on 400kg of weight, not sure the applied force of a nema 17 will get anywhere near that even if the router was being dragged while turned off, not to mention the machine is built from pla… I’m hoping it will be fine to start with, happy to get something else in the future if it’s unsuitable

If I’m not wrong it will take around 3kg of force on the middle of a 1.4m tube to deflect it by 1mm. Sounds adequate? I don’t think we put(or should at least) that much force on a router bit when working.
Sounds like it’s definitely worth a shot for the stainless aspect, attractive price and ease of purchase.

Ryan will have to comment, but I thought the design spec for LR4 was to be able to sustain up to 9Kg of force on the router without breaking the machine. Not that you would use that in cuting. I know folks have stacked weights on LR4s for testing and have exceeded that.

I think .8mm is too thin for this application, and advise against it.
