I’ve run into a pretty big mistake while building the frame of my CNC LowRider V3.
I used aluminum rulers/profiles that are 3 meters long and 10 cm wide, and because of that, I can’t properly position the feet for my Y rails. The width just doesn’t allow correct placement.
I’d really prefer not to spend another hundred euros on new rails with the proper dimensions just to fix this.
Does anyone have a solution or workaround? Maybe alternative feet I could print, or some kind of modification that would make this setup usable?
In this situation, I’d search a bit more for a modded clip that works, or design and print some. Would be neat if the roller part and clip design collectively allowed mounting clips in either orientation.
I think I’m going to move toward designing a mount for the belt holders; it will probably be easier than trying to find a solution with the Y rail feet.
What size pipe do you have? Already checked if there’s a LR4 clip variant that’s compatible with your pipe dimensions, and, whether LR4 clip has a lower symmetrical profile than LR3 clip.
Am wondering if LR4 Y clips faced with mount holes towards center of your metal box will work for your LR3.
EDIT: Nope, I can’t see that working. Just looked at my LR3, it’s been a while, the LR3 front roller’s tight downturn doesn’t have room for a LR4 clip (because of where the front roller’s bolt mounts to YZ plate).
