LowRider 4 Printed Parts, XZ plates and screw kits in the EU

I am delighted to be able to offer the printed parts for the LowRider 4 as well as the XZ aluminium plates in Europe now.

You can buy them here:

I also ordered Aluminium XZ Plates for those who are upgrading from a LR3 or Primo (if you bought the international kit you don’t need them as they are included!):

The plates are being manufactured at the moment and will be unlocked in the shop as soon as they arrive (approximately 1-2 weeks out). I am going to announce it here when they arrive.

The prices are a bit higher than in the V1 shop, stemming from the fact that I can’t order materials in bulk (and the plates are manufactured in Germany!) and I am also paying licensing fee for the parts (obviously). :slightly_smiling_face:

I am happy Ryan is giving me the opportunity to contribute to this community.

If you have feedback or questions, don’t hesitate to ask. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nope, why would I when there is Sorotec? Can’t compete with the quality and prices.

I now have one black/red LR4 in stock (minus the braces and the Y-rail clips, because of the different sizes), the alu plates are coming in Tuesday or Wednesday I hope.

Don’t forget your Y rail clips :face_with_monocle:

Yeah, well… Can you spot the problem… GRRR. First they forget to send out my package, then they just mark the holes instead of cutting them through. How does that happen???

I wrote them an email, lets see what happens… I could just cut a holder and drill those holes myself on the LowRider but that would cost me a few hours that I currently don’t really have. It also defeats the purpose of having them made…

That is some BS right there. Hopefully they refund you. I would just center punch and use a drill press if you have one….if they don’t remake the parts for you.

They are really nice and since I am in the EU they either have to fix their mistake or exchange the product. Fixing would be really expensive, they’d need to build a fixture etc.

I guess they are going to just send new ones, but I’ll see on Monday.

If I can keep those plates I am going to mill a fixture myself and drill the holes with the CNC, I bought drill endmills especially for the plates back in the day and have some well working settings, so once the fixture is in place it would take half an hour or so.

Get a little clip of the process if you remember. That should be interesting. I don’t think too many realize the power of a fixture for stuff like this. The setup takes a bit but after that it is just swap plates, hit go, repeat.

I do this in my catan video. :slightly_smiling_face:

I talked to them, they are going to send me new plates. The problem is that they can’t laser holes under 4mm and they are 3.25, so they drilled them the last time but didn’t check carefully this time so they forgot.

Seems I am going to mill a fixture later to try to salvage the other plates.

Easier than I thought… 4 minutes for the fixture, 50 seconds per pair.

Plates will be available in a few hours. :slightly_smiling_face:

Bonus points for remembering a finger hole to get them out
