Lowrider 4 Dust Shoe Improvements

I have been using my Lowrider 4 for a handful of cuts so far and its worked great, but every time I want to change the bit I have to unscrew the dust shoe shroud and pull off my hose so that I can get my second wrench on there. I’m using the Harbor Freight Bauer trim router which I believe is a clone of the Makita.

Is there some trick I’m missing to being able to get the wrenches on there? I only put the router down far enough so that the black collet is just shy of being at the same level as the core which I believe is what was advised for the LR3. I think this was so the core hits the work piece before the router does.

Is this all normal, and does anyone know if there’s a redesign? If not I may have to design a new shroud as this make it time consuming to change bits. I don’t like the idea of using the push button lock on the router as I worry bout skipping steps during tool changes.

Well I figured out a better way to search the forum using time filters as when I first searched this topic I found old information. I just found this option from Doug that I’ll print and give a shot.

Also sounds like the Dewalt dust shoe may be a viable option too.

What I talked about — It definitely works for me.
