I needed some low profile clamps that didn’t go over the surface of the work piece, so I whipped this up. The screw doesn’t retract the push piece, it only pushes it forward. I just push it snug against the work piece, tighten the nuts on the track bolts, and then a quick turn of the hex key, and it’s good to go. I’m probably going to recess the holes for the nuts, so I can put the bolt going down like I have on the opposite end (it’s only 1/2" wood, instead of 3/4" like the clamp block). The smooth “rods”, are longer bolts with the threads cut off. They are pushed in through the side that pushes against the work piece, and epoxied in. The is a nut epoxied in the front of the part that attaches to the t-track that pulls the clamping screw in to push against the clamping block (probably better terms for these).
