Lemonade Stand

My son has been asking for a lemonade stand for a while now and with the set up of my MPCNC, I figured this would be a good opportunity to add some flair that I could not do before having a CNC.

One of the parts that I am really happy with is the Lemonade sign on the front. That is my son’s handwriting that I used for the font.

I had him write the letters out on a sheet of paper and then converted the pictures to svg. In Inkscape, I picked the best letters suited for carving and lined them up.

The left “e” and “d” needed a bit of adjustment due to how thin they were but otherwise it came out really well.

I know that pine is not the best for carving but one goal for this project was to use up scrap wood that I already had in my shop. The only things purchased for this project were the hinges and paint.

I found some generic lemons to carve for the sides and since I am not a great painter, my wonderful wife took on that task and really made the designs pop.

I designed the stand to fold up for compact storage.

My son was very happy with how it turned out. :lemon:

Indeed, it turned out great.

Does he have any grapes?

He made that joke as soon as he saw it.

I just realized that frozen grapes would work great as ice cubes.

They would not water down the lemonade and would satisfy any ducks that come by.

Thank you for sparking the thought.

Or, you could hang a sign that says, “no grapes”. In an ad hoc way.

That song is such an ear worm.

We had a couple drink stands as a kid. I freaking love it, and you got everyone involved so I love it even more.

:trophy: You deserve this.
