LCD Blank,,not working

I bought the Rambo 1.4 and LCD from Ryan, I got my table done and now trying to setup the electronic. The LCD is power on but it just a blank screen. I plug the two LCD cables into the two ports shown for the Rambo board on the support site.

  1. Is the board already flashed with the right firmware and ready to go? I bought it here and it should had be done already right?
  2. Is there any picture on how to setup the LCD on a RAMBO 1.4 board?
    1. EXP 1 and EXP 2 on the LCD board..which cable goes where to what ports correctly?
  3. The LCD can with an adapter is this needed for the RAMBO 1.4 board?

Please help I need to get this start ASAP for a project I am working on.

Thanks

Peter

Match the ports, but there are two ways they can fit, try turning them around on the same port.

You might also want to start with repetier, then the LCD.

Every once and a while one slips through with the plastic ports on, https://www.v1engineering.com/forum/topic/rambo-1-4-and-lcd-issues/#post-60917

Be aware that the lcd cables plug in a certain way (if reversed you can have the issue you are seeing). Notice that one side of the ribbon has a colored stripe on. Make sure you are matching this up with the pictures from the electronics portion of the website.

If you notice the right side of the cable in this picture is colored. This is on my mini-Rambo (I’m not sure if it is the same for the Rambo). [attachment file=81645]

Thank you everyone for the quick help…I got it to work following Ryan link and reversing the cable connection on the board. I plugged the two LCD cables the normal way first and it gave me a blank screen with clicking sound. I then reversed the cables on the board and it worked!

Now I got a new problem the X,Y and Z motors are not turning on when I move them in the LCD panel. I am testing them first to see if the motors move or not before hooking up all belts. They are not working.

Is the a way you need to plug the cables into each port? There are no clip on each plug to indicate the direction alignment for the port. I plugged them all in different ways and it’s still not working.

More power.

What??? More Power??

There is a C port label for the Rambo 1.4 with the - and + port for motors. I bought the kit from you and there is only one power supply for the main board. Hopw do I power the motor port for the X,Y and Z ports?

Do I need another power supply???

Peter

The link I provided, shows you how to power it.

Thanks, saw that…didn’t scroll all the way down…they are working now. Peter
