Laser upgrade

First off I would like to apologise if this has already been asked but I have trawled the forums and cannot seem to find the answer to my question.

I printed all my MPCNC parts and bought the kit from the V1 shop and built my MPCNC and its working like a treat, the main reason for buying the board and kit from the shop was that I had no experience in marlin or setting up boards and I was a little daunted by it, therefore it all being preinstalled was a dream for me. I have had my MPCNC set up for around 2 months now and I’ve carved wood items, cut out wood items and engraved in to aluminium, it was always my intention to get a laser set up to do some engraving , not toooooo bothered if it is powerful enough to make cuts so I am happy with it just being able to engrave.

I have looked at the laser pages but what I am after I knowing is if there is a laser (cheap) out there that requires none or hardly any programming in marlin to make it work that will work with mini Rambo board, I am scared of messing about too much with the marlin stuff as I am really enjoying using my MPCNC and really don’t want to mess it up.

again I apologise if this is already on the forum somewhere and I’m asking again but want help or a friendly nod in the right direction will be more than appreciated.

Before you do ANYTHING with lasers, I beg of you PLEASE read everything you can about lasers and EYE SAFETY. Most notably, in regards to the dangers of purchasing and relying on CHEAPASS goggles… the EXACT type of laser and goggle combination… what surfaces lasers can reflect off… enclosures and enclosure materials, etc. etc.

Cheers!

Marlin is a lot easier than you think. It is actually so easy it taught me how to program much better than I thought was possible.

the most simple laser is listed on the laser page I made. It runs on the fan port.
