Meanwhile, 2 squirrel cage fans on my 2.8w laser @ 1.5A, F180, in 2 passes. This is just the fans, without any air assist from underneath or from the side.

Without any sealant, the cardboard really sucks down flat to this thing. I have to leave a gap to make sure I don’t burn up the shop vac.

F50, F55, and F60 all cut cleanly, which is about 20 mm / min slower than before, but it doesn’t burn at all.

This is a used, beat up Amazon box. A fresh, uncrushed moving box might even cut a little better.

That still seems really slow, but if it works who cares!

Yeah. I don’t really understand why it’s so darn slow.

Without any additional changes, I was able to cut through cleanly at F85 on a Home Depot brand moving box. Those Amazon boxes are just tougher!
