Large cut size / Spindle holder

Hi guys,

finally back and heavily 3D printing, taking ages
All parts ordered and mostly already arrived, except MDF bed and 25mm pipes.
Little issues with finding the correct endstop switches but probably will sort that.

I started this topic to check my size expectations with you, if the LR V3 will be able to handle that X lenght… ^^

(A little bit like my first post Finding the ideal LR setup for large scale + CO2 laser - #20 by nikoberlin, a NEJE laser might come later, one step after the other)

First, I really like the new V3 design and am pretty happy that it took me longer to get the build started, so V3 was here already. Squaring wont be an issue no more, but maybe it lacks a little bit of strenght for my size now?

I’m planning to go for a cutting size of 1900 x 3100mm as many boards of poplar are of this size and I prefer not to cut them / be able to process large sheets.

What do you think about this, will it work or will the tension on the far X end be to much for a Y movement??

What about additional cable and lenght, I probably need way more extension to the NEMAs…
And why there are always 4 PIN to 6 PIN cables instead of 4 PIN to 4 PIN extension? NEMA has a 4 PIN cable and the SKR does too??

I ordered a air-cooled ER20 2,2kw spindle12-24kRPM, it has a 80mm diameter, does anybody know where I can find a suitable holder? The Makita is a bit smaller as I remember.

Looking forward to your replies, pretty excited to start the assembly (still probably need to wait a couple of days, printing, printing…)

Best, Niko

… I guess the 4 Pin to 6 Pin cable is to include the endstop switches, correct?

Additional questions: what about a breaking resistor and a Z probe plate, can /
should we add that?

*edit: found the Z probe on the assembly pictures, so I guess its supported.
