Kobalt er11 nut/collet replacement

My collet on my Kobalt router needs to be replaced. I bought a set on amazon, but the nut that came with the Kobalt does not seem to fit the collets. Is this standard? Do I need to order a nut also? If so, is a M14 clamping nut the correct one? If anyone has bought one and has a link, I would appreciate it.

Thats a hard one.
According to some google search this should be a fit for the kobalt router :link

Here is the link to the forum i find that, sorry if linking another site bugs you @vicious1

One suggestion: if you in a future would change the router: get the carbide er11 makita clone. It comes with standard collets (er11) 1/8" + 1/4". They are 60usd on clearance

One of the selling points on the kobalt was er11 collets. I thought this meant they would be standard. I bought the ones from this link

But they dont come with a nut. It looks like it is m14, but not sure of the threads. I bought a m14 nut that will be here today, hopefully it fits.

Since i don’t own a kobalt router, cant help you.

That remembers me to buy a couple of collet nuts for my carbide routers

They sell this replacements for the er11 version of the carbide router. Maybe will fit yours, but thats a 25 usd gamble i wouldn’t make honestly

I have the Kobalt and a Carbide3d router. The same nut will fit both.

Where I have had issues is some of the collets wont “snap” into some of the nuts. Seems some are designed a little differently. I have found that buying a collet set with nut works better than buying them separately. They seem to fit together well when I do it that way.
