Jackpot settings reset after unplugging

Went though the calibration proces earlier today, just to realize it was all gone after unplugging and coming back to it later.

Luckily at that point I had it figured out so it didn’t take me long to get it setup again and I exported the settings from the ui as a backup before unplugging.

But still when I unplug the machine all my settings are wiped, even though I hit save.

Do I need to do something else to save the config setup in the UI to flash? I’m on the latest build with webui v3 (as recommended in the docs). Or is there something wrong with my controller?

There is a Save button somewhere. I don’t use FluidNC so I can’t tell you where, but I think somewhere on the first screen.

Ah found a different post here.

Yo actually save to flash one must use:

$CD=config.yaml - saves any config changes you make to the file. To allow it to be there after a reboot.

Feel like this could be a nice thing to note in the docs under the initial calibration. I know not everyone will be using fluidnc but I imagine most newbies like myself might.

The docs mention saving there, so that would be a great place to mention this.

The save macro is there initially on the screen for people using the webui3. How did you missed it? Webui V2 must use the save button manually (i dont, i do my edits on the tablet/pc and upload it manually)

I think I accidentally didn’t restore the macros after updating.

Is there some place you can download them?

You should check out the jackpot page onto the v1 docs. It has a direct link for the github V1e page that contains everything.

That’s a classic update mishap! Losing the macros would totally explain why the machine seems to “forget” its essential settings when it restarts.

You’ll usually find the standard set of macros you need on the V1 Engineering docs or the GitHub repository for your specific control board (e.g., SKR Pro, Rambo, etc.).

Just look up the setup page for your board on the V1E site, and it should link you directly to the files you need to restore them to your SD card.

Ah so my confusion came from that webut v3 doesn’t use the macro files anymore. After I found the github and loaded all the files - not just the yaml config - everything started working as expected.
