I was making a cut today and machine stopped in the middle of cut. Looked and noticed I lost connection to FluidNC. Unplugged power to machine, Restarted computer and cannot find FluidNC. Tried to reinstall FluidNC via usb cord that I used first time,(24volts unplugged, ESP32 on board and removed from board) but showing “No compatible devices found” Any ideas where to start?
Pull the ESP-32. Plug it in to your computer with the USB cable you originally used to load it.
Does the LED turn on? Does your computer see it?
Led does illuminate on the ESP32, but computer does not see the ESP32.
I also have an extra Jackpot and ESP32 witch I have been swopping parts back and forth.
The new jackpot/ESP32 are detected by computer.
Old ESP32 as stated above LED illuminated but not detected.
New Jackpot/old ESP32 Illuminated not detected.
Old jackpot/New ESP32 Illuminated not detected.
Back to new Jackpot/New ESP32 Illuminated and detected.
Going thru Conf now hope to be running again soon but still need help to get old board and old ESP32 running again.
Just to be clear, for the problem ESP-32: this result is with the ESP-32 completely removed from the jackpot and plugged only into the known good cable, which in turn is plugged into your computer?
yes ESP32 removed from jackpot board plugged into computer with known good usb cord, led light on but device not detected.
Can you post a high resolution picture of this ESP32?
For the jackpot that doesn’t work with the known good ESP-32, can you post a high resolution picture of the board (with the ESP-32 not installed in it)?
ON the jackpot board that isn’t working, leave the ESP-32 out, plug in VMOT power and turn it on. Measure the 5V rail with a DMM. Put the DMM (-) lead on the VMOT (-) connector, and there’s a convenient probe location along the row of unpopulated 5V header through holes.
Sounds like your ESP32 board died. I’ve had a few do that in other projects. I know one was for a lack of cooling.
Just finished cutting with new Jackpot board and new ESP32.Did retesting with Known good parts to old parts still Device not found. Attched are the photos you requested.
This is the non working ESP32
This is nonworking Jackpot board.
This is nonworking Jackpot with 24 volts applied and shows +5volts at rail.
Ca retake any pictures or take more if needed.
