Jackpot/FluidNC and RS485?

Does anyone use RS485 with the Jackpot to control a VFD? What pins from the Jackpot would be usable? Are UART 2/3 assignable from the firmware?

You need to purchase the rs485 module from barts tindie store. Rhe config for using it is in the spindle section of Fluidnc wiki. It really is plug&play

My experience wasn’t quite a smooth as @CesarH. But it is pretty straightforward. I started with hooking it up exactly as directed. I did ground the shielding on the cables as well. However, my VFD is more reliable if the ground is disconnected on Bart’s board. He describes some of the troubleshooting in his documentation. My VFD also required me to disable laser mode in the Start gcode for Estlcam.

As stated - it’s really not too complicated. Bart’s documentation was definitely sufficient for the small amount of troubleshooting I needed to do.

I dont use the laser anymore in the cncs anymore but i still have the laser declared in the config. I never had any issues with it. I used the HY config for the vfd. But i never had to make any changes, i dont use estlcam anymore as im using Vectric Aspire with a laser spindle and the normal spindle for the cutting bits.

For the barts module: try to get the new isolated version. I ordered 2 now but i have the v1 version on the machines and they work just nice
