Is this router ok for the MPCNC please?

Hi there all,
I just buy and install my first MPCNC and I want to ask
if this router it’s ok for the MPCNC please.

Also I want to understand…
The motor control box can be connected to the logical card SKR Pro please ?
in order to control from the software the power on/off and rotation ?

Thanks in advance
Denis

basically any spindle will work with an MPCNC as long as its not stupidly heavy.
you may have to design the mount for it yourself though unless someone else has done it before.

The general consensus for spindles seems to be the standard dewalt router, or the Maketa RT0700 series (or their knockoffs)
Not for any real technical reason, just that is what most of us use, and so its easier to find someone else who has had your problem.

I don’t own a SKR Pro, so I can’t tell you how easy it would be to interface to that motor control box.

The short answer is NO Denis. The router you list is a fully fledged spindle that is way too ‘professional’ for an mpcnc. It requires special signals to control the inverter ( see here for a diagram). You would be much better off going for a simple mains powered trim router like the one already suggested by cycloctane.

It’s not that the item you list cannot be fitted, it is just way more complicated than your question suggests you need.

Not sure where you are, but this is the one I use. With a coupon you can get it around $50.00

Thanks a lot all of you
I’ll take the cinese one cause someone write about less soud when work.
Also the cinese one, like Mike wrote,
can be linked to the logical board.
I still don’t know how will be connect but this will be another help thread.

Thanks a lot again
Denis

It’s your machine, so do what you think is best, but I suggest starting with the “standard” spindle type that folks here are already using, as we will be able to help you past any difficulties. Once you feel you’ve exceeded its capabilities consider the VFD as an upgrade.

The spindle itself may be quieter, but I doubt you’ll be able to tell the difference once there’s a bit in there chewing through the material and you’ve got dust collection running.

Others have been able to get the VFD interfaces going, but it often depends on high quality documentation being provided. I’d check the listing to see what documentation you can find before committing to that setup.

The SKR board should be able to send spindle enable/disable for on/off and RPM for speed control. It may also be able to select clockwise or counterclockwise rotation but will probably require firmware configuration changes to enable that, as I don’t think it is a very commonly used feature on hobby CNC routers or 3D printers.

Thanks a lot for the information.
But in the mean time I’ll use it only with the box that come with.
Then with time, I’ll try documentation in order to connect it to the SKR board.

Thanks again
Denis
