Is my Jackpot3 toasted?

Hello,

I’m having difficulty with my controller. I’m able to connect to it over wifi but when I try to jog the machine it doesn’t move, even though it’s producing code as if it’s moving. When I first connected to the machine yesterday I had error 152, but after unplugging it and plugging it back in the error is no longer there. The end stops are not triggered and it doesn’t move in any -/+ Y,X, or Z direction.

I suspect there could be an issue with the controller for three reasons:

  1. It doesn’t read my sd card (it doesn’t see one connected to it), whereas it was reading and running gcode from the same card no problem last week when I used the machine last.
  2. When I unplug the machine, the Z axis stays elevated and doesn’t drop like it did when it was working fine.
  3. I didn’t ground the vac hose. I was too excited to use the machine after setting everything up, so I totally forgot about doing that and it never came to mind since!

Another thing to note, yesterday morning I updated my home modem settings to bridge mode since I have TP Link mesh pods around my place. I’m by no means a computer/IT guy, but could this have affected it? I don’t think so because of number 2. above, but I’m a total noob with this stuff. After work today I’ll try to disable bridge mode and see if it resolves it.

I was about to order a new Jackpot3 this morning but thought I’d check with you guys for any other troubleshooting tips before I buy it.

Thanks in advance!

I don’t know whether this is also an issue on the Jackpot 3, but with the original Jackpot you can’t have a USB cord supplying power to the processor when you turn on the power supply - this leaves the ESP32 in a mode that doesn’t load the configuration and won’t run the machine or read the SD card.

I’d try turning things off, disconnecting any USB cable, and powering it back on.

I’d also send the output of running the $SS command in the terminal.

Been a while but I think in the web ui you have to unlock it. I believe default is locked so nothing gets bumped.

Iirc there is a little button near the top middle.

Sorry for wasting your guys’ time. Turns out I wasn’t powering off the jackpot when I thought it was… I feel awful for wasting a post and your kindness with helping me out. It works fine now after properly cycling the power.

Thank you, all!
