Input 4 problem

I am using a Nano on an empty board for testing on my computer.
There are no connections made for any of the inputs or outputs as it is just for testing.
When I open the settings for inputs I am getting a triggered signal for input 4, although nothing is connected. I can toggle the setting but it still shows as triggered,
I thought that possibly the Nano board may be faulty so I changed over to another board, but the same situation exists. I changed over the Nano itself for another one and still no change.
I also deselected any setting for input 4 and still shows triggered.
Any idea what could be the problem?
I am using Estlcam_64_12101

1/ When you say you are using a nano on an empty board what do you mean?. Is the nano plugged into some board or is it just the nano?

2/ what option did you use to program the nano? Was it arduino with estlcam output or was it grbl because they use different nano pins for output 4. If you used GRBL then output 4 is set to nano pin 12 - which was moved from Z+ limit pin to PWM out around 1.1f. Try using arduino with estlcam option instead which has output 4 on nano pin 11

3/ meter whichever pin is used for the firmware you programmed to discover if the actual nano pin is being held at zero volts or is Estlcam not reading the pin correctly.

The board I have been using for all my testings of version 11 upwards for several years now. It has been programmed with Estlcam each time, this time with the latest version that came out a few days ago.

I only use Estlcam, no GRBL.
I have tried a few spare boards and a few spare Nanos as well. all have done the same thing.
I will reprogram with an earlier version and see if it corrects itself as I had no problems with the earlier versions.

I reprogrammed with an earlier version and the problem went away.
I then reprogrammed with the latest version and the problem is no longer there. Not sure what happened, but it is fixed now.

It is an option in estlcam that can be used on Nano’s and the like with a different pinout to the ‘Arduino with Estlcam’ pinout. …

Anyhow…glad the problem is fixed.

Yes, thanks Mike. I have built 6 controllers over the years, all have used Estlcam with a Nano. I started with version 10.

My understanding is that the firmware is a constant, that only the software changes. I think reprogramming is only required when changing settings on the Basic Settings (v12, Controller v11) tab.
