How do I secure the hose to the Core?

Hi, I’m finishing a build for a small form factor LR4. I got a 2.5 inch hose with a metal wire to go with it, but it keeps popping out of the dust shoe. Is there a recommended way to attach it securely? I haven’t seen one in the docs

Not sure if it exists but maybe someone could make a cam lever / cam lock version of the dustshoe?

Attach the hose to your gantry. Stop putting strain on the friction fit with the dustshoe. Once you get the hose attached to the gantry, the strain will drop significantly at the shoe, making that friction fit work properly. Worst case, run a strip of weatherstripping tape inside the dustshoe to tighten up the friction fit. But you need to move the point of strain off of the dustshoe connection.

Originally the dust hose is held to the top of the core and lays on the back of the gantry. There are zip tie holes on the top of the core for this.

Great, I’ll try attaching it to the top of the core. I did try attaching it to the gantry, but it still popped.

There is a hole on the upper mount for the router to secure dust hose with a zip tie and it works well for me. As mentioned above also secure it with a zip tie to the top of the core. Build looks great.

Ok securing it with the zip tie at the top seems to be working for now, I’ll test further.

By the way, how do you guys ground the metal cable within the hose? At the core end?

I will offer an opinion and someone else can offer the real answer if it isn’t quite right. You can ground it on just the one end that is easiest typically near the vacuum or dust collector and it will still work… Kind of like in your house wiring where it is grounded at one location.

Yeah, that might not be a bad idea. I’ll see what’s less cumbersome
