How do I raise the tool when paused?

I’m working on a beginner project that involves cutting out text with a V bit, then switching to an upcut endmill to cut out the finished part. I’ve got EstlCAM making the cuts, and it pauses at the point of requiring a tool change, but the only way for me to change the tool is to unmount the router from the mount and swap the bit.

Is there some way in the basic MPCNC flashed TFT for me to raise the tool around 10ish mm so I can access the collet to change the bit while it’s mounted? At least that way it retains its place and height so I can power it back on and resume thereafter. The closest thing I’ve found was raising baby steps but 5mm isn’t quite enough for me to get the wrench in there.

One way is to manually edit the gcode with Notepad to add a Z movement up 60mm immediately before the tool change pause, and another Z movement down 60mm immediately after the tool change pause.

A test run is highly advisable before using this on material that you care about.

If you add the tool change gcode to estlcam then it will raise Z for you and set up to probe again after the tool change. That’s how I do it
