Hose hook too loose

I think it’s a great idea to be able to replace the hose hooks if they break or if we want a custom model.

However, the ones I’ve printed are very loose, and it’s not uncommon for them to fall off during handling, or even while the machine is operating.

Would there be any issue with drilling a hole in the brace and the hose hook to secure them with a #3 screw?

You can do that, or you can calibrate your printer properly. :stuck_out_tongue:

You could also enlargen the hooks a 1 or 2%, maybe that already helps.

I think my printer is well calibrated. When I compare the measurements of the printed parts to the measurements shown in the slicer, I see differences that are below the precision of my caliper.

Aren’t your hose hooks loose?

I must admit, I’m a bit embarrassed that I didn’t just think to scale them up a little bit! That said… a mechanical way of securing them might not be a bad idea. At the very least, it avoids wasting filament.

No, mine are in too tightly, I scaled them down. :stuck_out_tongue: I had little bit of Elephant’s foot.

OK. So I have a nice problem to handle!

Couple of bits of tape to shim them out. Done.

Yape or hot glue might be a good fix too. You can still remove hot glue from PLA.
