Hey V1, What are you listening to?

In the workshop I listen to Trentemøller “Early Worx” at the moment (okay, for a lot of the last moments… :D). My shop music is always more on the electronic side of things.

Besides that I mainly listen to Metal, Rock etc. outside of the shop. One of my all time favourites is Buckethead.

For the last ~6 months, I’ve been listening to the audio recording of Infinite Jest on loop. It’s not as full-fidelity as the book (I basically skip over the endnotes), but cycling through the story over and over really lets some of the subtler elements shine through.

If I’m tired of listening to that, usually just this week’s news/science podcasts, a few short story/fiction podcasts, or whatever song is currently trending on TikTok in a tight loop until I’m tired of it.

I have been listening to a mix of power metal and progressive metal while getting my CNC set up.

I like that those genres tend to have concept albums where the whole album flows together.

Absolute Elsewhere by Blood Incantation is the tight new shit the cool kids listen to. Also, the new Opeth CD is dope as well, also a concept album. Oh, and King Buffalo’s The Burden of Restlessness slaps like mad. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m liking you more and more Philipp

I’m kind of all over the place musically. At work I inadvertently became the office DJ, we’re a small one room office and our owner used to play some Sirius alternative channel that was horribly repetitive - good music…just when you hear the same song for the 3rd time in a day it gets old fast! Well, a few years ago he was on vacation so I brought in my speakers since my desk is pretty much in the middle of the office. When he came back the rest of the office asked that I keep music duties since I keep mixing up what we’re listening to.

Though - when I get burned out on finding new music I usually just turn to https://radioparadise.com/ as my go-to since they play a similarly eclectic mix.

My wife plays melodic percusion in a concert ensemble. Like marimba, glockenspiel, xylophone etc. We have that at home too :kissing_heart:

In my shop and car it plays symphonic heavy metal and hardrock. I am a hugh fan of Nightwish (about 25 years) and i cry when Floor sings…. For the germans over here : Rammstein. For the canadians over here : Devin Townsend. For the yanks : Blondie.

i need to use music, but in my shop i have a full entertainment with surround sound and an older 55 inch plasma screen. (if it is on, I usually sit and do nothing) so with music it does not take so much of my interest.

I forgot about pandora. I recently got rid of my 2008 silverado and got a 2017. So have been using amazon and spotify. but now i am sick with both, so I may try Pandora, thanks!

When I am “working” in my cave i usually listen to Philip Glass’ music, of recommendations from spotify that sounds like this music. In my car I mostly listen to a music channel with classical music, because I am sick of the dj’s on other channels talking bullsh#t all the time. Classical music also helps me driving more relaxed, so less of no speeding tickets  . But sometimes Rammstein finds its way to my radio…

I’ve been on a Squirrel Nut Zippers kick in the garage lately. They had that great sound too.
