Heelp required with skr pro 1.2

nd this has got me stumped in proterface I can M119 and gives a response on end stops when I try and use a stepper I get driver error printer halted in Marrlin and in ponterface I get the following they are also oange lights not sure if thats correect?

Hoiping someone can make sense of the following

Can you post a pic of the skr pro wired up? I suspect you don’t have power to MOTOR. If not that, something is wrong with the wires. Those stats are all way too same. All the open loop flags are on too. The output looks bogus (as in, not from the actual drivers, I believe the dkr told you that).

I’ve left it at work now buddy will send you a pic Monday

@jeffeb3 pictures of wired board

Thanks

Well, that looks pretty sane. The Y driver heatsink is a little wonky. Hopefully that didn’t short anything. You didn’t change the wiring since you got that M122?

update swapped the stepper cables as they needed the middle to swapping to pair them correctly now i can send the move command but all i get is a slight movement and a lot of grinding noise image is of the stepper motors.
Any ideas welcome as it’s really starting to hurt my head

Grinding is from possibly one or two of the following:

  1. pulley jumping belt teeth because the belt is too loose
  2. stepper is disconnected on one of the wires and it is missing a step
  3. stepper is skipping steps because something is bound up too tight and it can’t move

check grub screws on the pully shaft to the motor, verify belt tension, check wiring for incomplete continuity between motor and controller. verify truck or moving part is free to move.

I had the motor removed its like its fighting with its self so from what I’ve read its possibly 1 of the windings not working

I had one of my stepper online steppers go out on the mpcnc last summer after heavy use. It would spin free for half rotation and bind on the other half. No idea why. Replaced, no problems.

Think its more likely a wiring issue as all 5 steppers have the same issue

This would be my guess. Have you confirmed that the wiring “order” per stepper is right?

did you clip the pins on the bottom of the 2209’s? there were a couple that aren’t used and the jumpers need to be set right (removed) underneath. If they are all doing weird things and they are all the same, it is possible that they are all configured similarly, but not quite right.

Yeah pins clipped and jumpers set correctly

Not yet it was only after reading through a few articles tonight i thought this may be the issue I’m not back in now until Wednesday to check.

Just out of curiosity, did you check the end switches? I believe they are normally closed and when you manually push on one, there will be a corresponding red light that turns on the SKR board. Normally all of the red lights are off except for the one that isn’t used. I think its the middle light as it’s always on. I should also say that when the end switch is open, the stepper motor will only move a slight bit. It was your statement " all i get is a slight movement" that is causing me to ask this question.

We have motion guys  next step is to tidy all the wiring up and get it all levelled up.
The issue was the cabling

Hit another wall now got movement working great however all my endstops apart from Z probe are registering as triggered so unable to home the machine to levvel it up.
any body come across this I see lots of posts about end stops but couldn’t see anything with a fix for my issue.
Nothing happens if I reverse the cable
v+ pins are not used

Did you wire your switches NO or NC?

This looks like you wired them NO and they think they are hit. The firmware is set up for NC operation as a failsafe if any wiring gets messed up

makes no difference if I switch the cables round
