I cut a pair of strut plates from 1/8 hardboard with a single flute1/8 upcut endmill. I attempted to install. The plates were larger than the brackets. I reassembled and started to do some testing. I squared and also measured the distance between 2 points on the X axis and 2 points on the Y axis. The x-axis was off by about .5 mm. The y-axis is spot on. I double-checked the size of the endmill. I cut a rectangle 68mm x 25mm.
The measurement is 68.4 x 25.6
I am a little lost on how to correct. Does anyone have any suggestions?
1/8 inch is 3.175 mm.
If your tool (your endmill) in your CAM is set to 6 mm that could be the difference.
need much more info! Cam program? Is this the first cut? What is your machine, including the board you are using.
If it is Estlcam, are you set up in Metric everywhere?
There may be a few more questions others will ask.
Oh is it fluidnc?
Did you use a finishing pass?
Did you check the grubscrews? (can’t believe I am the first to post this here)…
I’m sorry I left out some details.
Machine: Lowrider4
Board: Jackpot Fluidnc
Cam: EstlCam
I’m set up in Metric everywhere
I used a finish pass of 10%
I did checked grub screws.(First thing I checked)
Did your end braces fit but the middle ones didn’t? Mine did the same thing, ended up just screwing them in and smashing the wood to fit. Used the vector strut generator
