I made a second one for my wife, it does not look as good as the first one, the inlays do not fit that well for whatever reason (though I thought I was being extra careful this time. It seems it is easier if you assume a bad fit and leave a bigger air gap. Will have to try that out). I also did not look at the grain’s direction, now the guinea pig has got a bad hair day.

I think it looks good, gives it the round look. That maker’s mark on the bottom is a stunner as well.

Thanks, I started engraving it in everything I do, started with the cutting board with the birds. Takes a little less than two minutes, so it’s a no-brainer. In this case, it’s a little too deep though, you can’t read the internet address well.
I prefer the makers mark in a glass, straight up…
