Germany - Wheel spacer / Watercooled spindle

Hi there

I just startet my building process ordering the parts and i cant find the needed wheel spacers anywhere here in germany. Does someone know an alternative in europe?

And i am searching for a good watercooled spindle that isn’t to heavy and does a good job with the lowrider. Any tips in this matter?

Hi Wilkens,

I am also trying to star a LR build and it sounds like I am at a similar stage as you and have asked the same question.

I’d found a couple of air cooled 1.5KW and water cooled 2.2KW spindles with VFD drives on eBay (ironically enough from German) for similar money to the recommended Dewault . Now 3 things have finally persuaded me to go for the international version of the 230Vac DWP 26200.

  1. Users here told me that the spindles are heavy and STRONGLY suggested that the Dewault was the way to go
  2. The LR was designed to use the Dewault
  3. If you look for the Shaoeko - a commercial small format CNC they also use the Dewault - they must be a very good reason ...... It works and is reliable!
My only problem is the friggin' noise the Dewault will emit in use, I wanted to get a spindle because the LR is a stepping stone machine for me in order to make a bigger faster machine which would need a spindle but the added grief of the water pipes and VFD cabling is just not worth it.

The machine has limitations, of course it does, but it’s only (approx) £400, with it you can recoup your money and move on to bigger and better.

Lastly, if I can find some spacers I will let you know

Thanks Matt, i’ve searched 3h for spacers now… and still unlucky.

I am building my Lowrider to carve complex doors, so i thought the dewalt would not be sufficient to run 2 days straight

Hi Wilkens

It looks like the parts link have been sorted out via ‘Shop’

I clicked on the wheel spacer links to Amazon then followed links of the link etc there are loads of them

Try entering skateboard wheel spacers in to a search box

Matt, as far as I understand, the Router’s motor is NOT the main noise source, but the cutting itself or the shopvac for the dust collector/collection system…

I just bought a steel tube the right size and cut spacers from it.

I ordered these:

I live in Germany and still have 4 left. Send me a DM if interested.
