Thought I was being clever removing the 3/4" spoilboard to get a little extra depth but noooo the tube for the z-axis caught on the top of this bowl test, on one of the locator pins that it subsequently plowed through, you can still see the other one.

Quite impressed by the depth of cut it made after getting unstuck though!

Yup. I’ve had those tubes catch on my clamping blocks before because I wasn’t paying attention to total depth. You need to make sure the collet is the lowest part of the machine. It might just be the angle, but it almost looks like your collet is higher up than the bottom of the Z axis tube.

Yeah I really need to just use some taller legs, right now they are the minimum and the tubes being slightly below the collet provides extra Z height which with the spoilboard in place is usually helpful.

I ordered some more tube to redo things a bit.
