Fun with spoilboards

In the process of leveling my table and surfacing my spoilboard I really wanted a visual way of seeing where I needed to work on shimming my spoilboard before surfacing. so with the help of claude code, I came up with this basic, but cool web app; https://autoleveler.vanderlab.net/. It consumes the output of a UGS surface scan.

I am using a jackpot v1, a microswitch, and a bracket( LowRider/MPCNC Microswitch Probe by Richard Walter Vanderpool III | Download free STL model | Printables.com ) to mount the probe. I’m sure there are other ways to do this too, but I love the visual output of data like this. It was quite helpful.

I will be surfacing my spoil board in the next few days, and this looks like a fantastic tool for visualizing the initial and final unevenness across the spoil board!

Also, it’s amazing how far AI models have come in recent years.

I have not worked with UGS yet, but will give it a try soon just for this tool
