I’m upgrading my Burly to a Primo (such a nice, sleek improvement–looking forward to building it!). I’ve printed all the parts except the “Truck_J_Primo_Mirrored_V1.stl” and “Truck_J_Primo_V1.STL” parts (2x each).
All of the other parts have printed without generating any warnings or requiring support. However, for these last ones, I get a “floating cantilever” warning that indicates that support is required. The parts page states pretty emphatically that “No support should be needed for any part I have designed,” so I’m wondering what’s up.
As far as I can tell, the issue is that there’s a pattern of shallow recesses on opposing ends of the trucks–one faces upwards and the other faces the build plate. I think it’s the ones facing the build plate that are triggering the warning. See red regions in screenshot below.
Is there something I’m missing here? While these are really shallow overhangs, it seems like they’d still require support given their size and that the floors of the recesses are horizontal, flat surfaces. Just curious if anyone can shed light on this. I’d like to avoid using support if I can (so much smoother without it), but don’t want to print for hours only to find out that I should have opted for it….
Cheers,
Christian
