Flat pack fridge handle

A friend ripped the fridge freezer handle off and I could not find a replacement.
It’s not fancy and I am pretty sure next time he comes it may break lol it’s a ugly revision 1.0 I was going to make some bolt recesses but didn’t think it would be strong enough and that I would incorporate it into rev1.1. But here we are now lol
The hardest part was finding the weird radius of the fridge door. It’s not perfect and when I get my printer fixed I think I may make some tpu bases for them. It’s glued together and coated in west systems epoxy
Next flat pack glue project I will probably add an alignment tab so I can peg them all together so they don’t do the double cheeseburger thing when you clamp it.

Working off the assumption that it is a big circle, I think you could calculate it. I didn’t figure out the formula but these days, I usually just throw it in CAD and let it figure it out.

You can measure all the way across (b in my drawing would be that divided by 2). Then from straight across in the center, measure from there to the edge of the door (x). Those 2 measurements should be enough to calculate the radius. In CAD, you could just draw an arc from 3 points with that data.

Some days you just really need an ice cube.

Open the door. Put a ruler on top. Make a foto from above.Import the picture in Freecad. Use the ruler to scale and then you kan use the outline of the door to trace it. That can be used as a plane to design the handle.

These are great ideas guys thanks a lot for your input.
I believe I did it the dumb way. Used lr4 to draw the arc on paper and adjusted.
I really need to work on my math better.

this is exactly what I do when trying to match real life shapes.
